I've always thought that "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" was the beginning of our great scourge of 'homeless.' Demonizing nurse Ratchet and making the inmates seem oppressed but basically good guys was just too much for the system to handle. Now these guys are out on the streets, walking down the light rail tracks and generally making a nuisance of themselves.

I much preferred "Some Times a Great Notion," Ken Kesey's other major novel. At least I could relate to the loggers and the coastal environment.

I loved that scene where Paul Newman went into the banker's office with his chainsaw and sawed the poor man's desk right down the middle.
