Elroy, > So don't get all hoity toity with me because you don't like the nuances in the phrases that you yourself introduced into the discussion. Sheesh!

I introduced the phrase, but I didn't introduce the "nuances." I take issue with the spin that you pass off as "nuance."

Now it's all fine and dandy if you want to propose a solution, but for God's sake, wake up to the fact that many Arabs, some even going to tax-funded colleges here in America, are not going to accept it. You think Sunnis and Shiites can't get along in a democratic society, you just wait until Jews and Muslims have to do just that, especially on what both sides consider to be "holy land."

That's the true meaning of the phrase "wiping Israel off the map." It's not some desire on the part of those uttering the phrase to see your ideal of a multicultural society in Jerusalem. It's their desire to "toss Jews into the sea," just like Egypt promised back in 1967.

> I'd be interested to read your explanation as to why not, and why the status quo which has produced 60 years of warfare with NO end in sight, is preferable.

Like I said, if what you "prefer" is to duplicate the conditions in Baghdad, then what else can I say?
