Inflation? What inflation?

Office rents in Dubai will soar up to 40%
By Robert Ditcham, Staff Reporter

gulfnews.com

Dubai: The feared slump in Dubai's residential property market is unlikely to occur while office rents will skyrocket by up to 40 per cent over the next two years, according to a real estate advisory and marketing company.

In the residential market, the talk of the city continues to be an anticipated price correction, triggered by a massive supply of new units.

According to Dubai-based RichVille Advisory Group, construction delays and a population expected to double in five years means these fears are unfounded.

The city's population will hit 2.5 million by 2010, creating demand for an additional 480,000 residential units (based on 2.5 people per unit), the study claims.

It adds that expected projects scheduled for completion by 2010 do not exceed 500,000 "residential" units - the rest being office and mixed use developments.

According to our right wingnuts, sooner or later we'll be accosted by gangs of Muslims at our front doors demanding we convert or die - probably by beheading..

Yeah, I've read that, but what I would think more likely to happen is Muslims that live in the USA come to realize that driving cars, dating single women and eating pork are preferable to not doing that, and slowly choose to change their level of support for their parent's religion. Of all these Muslims in France that are causing so many problems, I wonder how many of them are 3rd and 4th generation French? I would think not many, because a 4th generation Muslim in France is going to choose dating girls when he's 21 years old over sipping tea with the dudes.

The Muslims in France are causing problems because they are facing discrimination. Most are forced to live in the poorer suburbs of Paris and can not get jobs. In addition two years ago, Mitterand had a law passed which prevents women from covering their heads in public buildings. People in a supposed democracy tend to rebel when faced with such blatant discrimination. And most of the French Muslims are from Algeria and are second and third generation.
