Pam, SNDK closed regular trading at 4:00PM EST at 40.13, according to Yahoo.

I will bet money that those option players who were short the Feb 40 puts and thought they had safely expired, will be in for a rude awakening on Tuesday. I know from sad experience that after hours trading on an expiration day DOES count.

For Eli to announce such an action at 5 minutes after the close on an option expiration day, is IMO reprehensible. I would have thought better of the man.

Disclosure: I am long SNDK but had written the April 40 call a couple of weeks ago.

MILPITAS, Calif., Feb 16, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- SanDisk(R) Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK), the world's largest supplier of flash storage card products, today announced cost cutting measures.

Even without the decline in NAND ASP, a reduction of force was a necessary evil to merge overlapping positions/product lines. The thing I don't get is why announce it and then say it won't happen until early March? I can't imagine that it will do much for productivity during the next 2-3 weeks.
