I don't believe there is any way to actually know whether you are exposing yourself to HIV. If you do not engage in sexual activity, nor share needles, nor exchange bodily fluids, including blood transfusions, your chances of exposing yourself to HIV are low but not zero.

There was the odd case of the dentist who did not properly autoclave his instruments.
