I remember when TV was free.

Still is if all you want is ABC, NBC and seeBS with a grainy picture.

And boy, was it bad! Three Network channels plus a couple of local ones with old movies selling cars.

Now you can sneer, "500 channels and nothing on," but that's not true. I gladly pay HBO to see "Rome" and "The Sopranos" and "The Wire." And the bulk of the day in-day out on the History Channel and the Military channel, plus the NFL and the PGA.

Late last night I was typing away here as I had "Sunrise" on from an HD channel. Just gorgeous scenery with local wildlife. And earlier, followed the Ant Army on their march though the jungle.

We live a life today our Grandparents could not have conceived of.
