RE- I guess you may live in Canada, but I came across something a few years ago. the information may be nonsense but the argument was that if you have a safe deposit box, of which most people do, the ideal holdings are gold/ silver coins (collectables) because, if your holdings are some type of bullion like inguts, the US banks may be complicit with Fed pressure to seize your metals. In todays 'normal' environment, I understand it would take a judicial action for any official authority to gain access to your safe deposit box, but let us say marshall law is declared, basically certain rights are forfeited to the state. I am sure some legal eagle knows about this. if you want to beat the, or any, system the ideal scenario would be to own an un- mortgaged farm.
