Republicans, meanwhile, sought to portray the war in Iraq as a key battleground in a titanic global struggle against militant Islam and criticized the resolution as a slap in the face for troops on the battlefield. Failure in Iraq, they said, would lead to widespread instability in the region. That's "better" than pointing out that it's a vote against the continued gross incompetence of the Bush Administration. There are a bunch of gutless members of the House that wouldn't vote Yes or No. I don't think any member of Congress was elected by their constituents to "Abstain". jttmab
