" Don't put words in my mouth. Of course there will be problems when we leave Iraq. There will be huge problems. There are now, there would be if we stayed and there will be if we leave. I'll give you more. The problems for the Iraqis, short term, will be greater when we leave than if we'd stayed. Long term, maybe not. But the problems for America will be less when we've finally exited Iraq. Sure I've heard the "haven for terrorists," and "loss of face in the Muslim world," and "embolden our enemies" talk. So what. There are already plenty of "havens" for terrorists in Asia, the Middle East and Africa. They can, you understand, travel. And we've already lost a tremendous amount of face and emboldened our enemies because of people like you who bet the farm on a sucker bet and now hold no chips. That's a given. But more importantly you simply fail to understand an elemental truth that keeps slapping you in the face; we WILL leave Iraq "before the job is done." It might be next month, it might be 5 years from now but it will happen. "We" can't DO the job in Iraq. It's not even our job. It's not even a "job." It's a culture of violence, corruption, and radical extremism that stands in the way of anyone doing the "job." You can prop up any government of any sect you want over there and the end result will be an antiAmerican, antiIsrael, radical, intolerant and oppressive regime that will be the nightmare of Americans. Get use to that idea and stop trying to push a string with the souls of our soldiers. Ed
