"They are pissed off because after 6 years he has made the same deal as clinton. "

Harris has already nuanced that one. It isn't the same deal because the nuclear power plants have been dropped, to be replaced with fuel oil. So the spin has already been lined up.

Ricky Martin Can't Vote

But he sure can register a symbolic protest. In a Dixie-Chick moment that is sure to affect any comeback plans:

At a recent concert, the 35-year-old singer stuck up his middle finger when he sang the president's name in his song "Asignatura Presidente," which includes the words, "a photo with Bush." The gesture last Friday prompted cheers from thousands of fans in the San Juan stadium.

Call him a flip-flopper if you must. Martin, after all, performed at Bush's 2001 Inaugural festivities, improbably shaking his bon-bon alongside our commander-in-chief. So what gives? How could Bush have lost the crucial backing of an entertainer who, being a resident of Puerto Rico, can't even vote in our national elections? To hear Martin tell it:

"My convictions of peace and life go beyond any government and political agenda and as long as I have a voice onstage and offstage, I will always condemn war and those who promulgate it."

It can only be a matter of minutes before we read about some big poster and CD burning, no?
