I haven't seen this much America hatred since the VN war. The European Socialists have been so very, very successful in turning her own people against her.

We are doing it to ourselves. We love the "us vs. them" mentality and we don't see the danger in it. As long as we persist in thinking that "They" are the problem -- Democrats, Republicans, conservatives, liberals, capitalists, socialists, Christians, Muslims, Jews, atheists, Hatfields, or McCoys -- we aren't going to get out of this.

There was a man arrested in Pakistan for selling his 11 year old daughter because he needed surgery. How many Americans have you heard of who sold one of their children to pay for an operation.

Americans are looking at fixing iraq, but instead of looking at the problem with the eyes of a realist, America went in thinking that the rights that it took Americans centuries to work out can be dropped on iraq and it will just be peachy.
Russia and France were bribing Saddam all through the last years of his rule. Instead of taking out France and Russia, America went to the UN to take out Hussein. France and Russia blocked the move they had billions invested in Saddam, of course they did. So block French Products for a while, don't buy stuff from russia, offer the Saudis a better deal on reactors, cut their throats with dollar bills, and tell them, you are doing it.

Iran is building nuclear Capability is the latest point of contention. Iran is being bad, and yet the parts and instructions and the power plant comes from Russia. Iran is arming Hizbollah in Lebanon against American interests, and France is aiding them, the problem is that there is no criticism of France and Russia and no embargo against them. But they are in many ways the enablers of American Enemies.

North Korea was easily handled once America mentioned arming the Japanese. Russia could be as easily tamed by offering to give the Afghans nuclear power.

The Muslim power is based on poverty, not like in the states where there are a few hungry people and food banks, and welfare. Hunger where people starve. Hunger where people die. Even the English Muslims are mad about the tragedies of Muslims somewhere else, other wise they have no reason to attack.

Want to break the power of the radicals? Start in palestine, and Lebanon. and Afghanistan or heaven forbid in Pakistan. make them rich, or at least richer than the neighbours. Make the poorest Pakistani richer than almost all iranians. Iran will be too busy catching up to be bothered with making trouble.

But remember nobody likes rich folks who flaunt their wealth. Americans flaunt their possessions in every film they make. make a Muslim Film Industry if you have to Historical films would be good, they can be made if there is a peaceful Palestine. and the Palestinians would be employed as extras, and have some real money to demand better treatment from their government.

If you think you haven't seen this much hatred, you weren't paying attention when Clinton was president (imo, of course).

Please do not tell me that "some do not understand that 'we' are fighting for a way to preserve our way of very life." That's begging several questions by assuming 1. we are fighting for that, or 2. that we're fighting for it more than we ever were, or 3. that we're doing the right things to preserve it, and that the "war" is correctly directed. All these things are open to debate, but you just blithely assumed in your statement that they aren't, and that anyone who opposes your "answer" to the problems facing us is against "our" way of life. These are all open questions, but by putting it the way you have you assume that your viewpoint is absolutely correct, and that all who oppose it fail to understand that you are absolutely correct. Do you really believe you are absolutely correct? And if you do, have you proof for this proposition? I sense absolutely no doubt emanating from your post. I always worry about points of view that incorporate no doubt, since all positions are usually assailable, and if you do not understand the weaknesses of your own position, it is unlikely you have adequately evaluated the position.

I don't know why we would be helpless to stop the advancement of the region being devoured by fanatics. Even if we had achieved what Mr. Bush aimed for- some sort of democracy- they still could have easily voted in fanatics, which would have left us with fanatics in Iraq (Iran voted for their fanatics, remember). We still have nuclear weapons, after all. Should we really be at risk of being "devoured" we could use them, right? (Not that I find this a likely scenario) The fanatics have not taken over our missile silos in Iowa, right? And they are not likely to. That sort of over passionate rhetoric of yours is going to lose most people who think about this calmly, and logically.

You can of course continue to call people traitors because they have differences with you over political ways and means, but in the end you may turn off people who might otherwise have been on your side, and you will certainly convince no one who isn't already on your side. There are certainly many purposes for writing a post, and I guess if your purpose is merely to bond with like thinking people, your manner probably serves you. If you were trying to be persuasive, I would urge you to try another tack.
