LC, with all due respect you are not understanding the difference between the US conservative and the US liberal.

They are light years apart in philosophy.

Only 13% of conservative's believe in global warming. This is reversed for liberals. Almost all liberals believe in global warming by man.

The vast majority of conservatives do not believe in gay marriage. Almost all liberals believe in gay marriage. Most conservatives do not believe in evolution. Almost all liberals believe in evolution.

During the 1964 civil rights days the conservative's filabustered for 14 days in the senate to PREVENT integration in the south. Virtually all liberals not only voted for integration but fought for it.

This is why the entire south, without exception of one state, now votes straight republican. They are still mad at liberals and never liked them much in the first place-lol.

And today almost all liberals in congress are agaisnt the war in Iraq and almost all conservatives support it. Just look at the recent votes

LC- very accurate observation. the problem in the States is one of arrogance in regards to the rest of the world & that includes Canada. if these Stateside dip- sh*ts would get off their cumulative fat ass*s, go somewhere other than to Disneyland type theme parks, they may realize the world is not such a bad place after all. it may even be interesting...how odd can that be. I will venture one other thought & that being America has evolved into a 'corporate state' of mind. in the pursuit of profit, business interests have morphed the political structure of this country quite successfully, interfering with good government & assaulting the structure of guaranteed rights & constitutional freedoms. amazingly, until very recently, no cry forth comes from concerned citizenry or fence sitting Democrat politicians.
