You are confused. K10 does not equal quad-core. K10 also includes dual-cores, many of which won't even have L3 cache. Intel plans to ship 95% Core 2 based CPUs on the desktop in Q3 and 100% in Q4. K10 desktop dual-cores probably won't be much if any faster than Intel's offering. In 2-way servers quad-core Clovertown is expected to account for 30% of Intel's shipments in Q1 and rising to 70% in Q4.
