Canada's problem is one of proximaty. I remember this quote from long ago> "1969 – Pierre Trudeau told the National Press Club in Ottawa that living next to the U.S. "…is in some ways like sleeping with an elephant. No matter how friendly or temperate the beast, one is affected by every twitch and grunt." see> cbc.ca things will not change because the nature of the political/ economic beast will always be the same. geographically speaking, Canada is not in an enviable position during some American administrations. I will say the difference in the past few years is easily recognized as such. when Bill Clinton visits Canada on his frequent trips he is idealized beyond American belief (this is also true around the world despite what American republicans think). if GW Bush goes anywhere, home or abroad, one can not get within egg throwing distance. by the way, I do appreciate & recommend CBC Radio 2 on -line, from the early morn to the late evening. I can not get enough Mozart, Brahms, and etc...all this with out stupid commercials. it is most civilized beyond belief! but then again I am sure the Canadians much prefer the American version of commercial entertainment.
