Most everything goes up because the costs of running a business are going up dramatically in recent years. I will also agree with anyone saying there are pockets of deflation due to technology and offshoring but in general if your energy, rent, RE taxes and insurance have tripled in ten years you gotta pass most of that along to survive. pay yourself, pay your bills and pay your workers a decent wage as the also need to survive Add continued credit and monetary expansion above long term trend plus the mounting twin deficits and it is a recipe for disaster..
