Given that the population in the DC metro area is 5 million, "everybody" is a bit of an exaggeration, but I think it's safe to say that Valerie Plame's social circles and Scooter Libby's social circles didn't overlap much. She lives on the far outreaches of Georgetown, still expensive but not exclusive. He lives in Mclean, VA, not that far as the crow flies over the bluffs and palisades of the Potomac, but not that close in Washington traffic. Their kids don't play soccer together, they don't go to the same backyard barbecues, and definitely don't go to the same fund-raisers. At any rate, you can't rebut the facts in Nadine's statement that Libby isn't being prosecuted for outing a NOC, he's being prosecuted for lying to a grand jury. Reminds me of the good old days when Democrats kept reminding Republicans that Bill was only being prosecuted for lying about sex.
