I notice you did not include the damage done in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in your post....

I'm not adverse to acknowledging those events. I think geode and I were talking specifically about the legal restrictions in Europe of denying the Holocaust. The Holocaust [with a capital H] refers strictly to the genocidal events conducted by the Nazis. Hiroshima and Nagasaki are holocaust [with a small h] events. Crispy critters.

You can find similar confusion with the word Communism [with a capital C] and the word communism [with a small c]. Two different things.

P.S. Interestingly, while I was living in England, their history of WWII says that it was the Brits that first broke the unwritten rule of targeting civilian populations. The Germans followed/retaliated in kind and it was all downhill from there. The Muslims are small potatoes when compared to the Christians bombing civilians. Muslims do a car bomb. Christians drop a nuke or firebomb entire cities, Berlin, Tokyo, Dresden.... We Christians know how to do it right.

I don't know about you, but when I think of nuclear bombs, the horrible part isn't that they're very big bombs, but that nuclear waste and fallout poison the earth, air and water for a very long time.

Nobody knew at the time that people would still be dying for months from radiation poisoning, for years from cancers, for generations from genetic abnormalities.

So when you talk about how bad the US was to use these horrible weapons, please don't accuse us of deliberately using nuclear waste and fallout to poison the Japanese. That's a lie.

And don't forget, we were attacked. Not just Pearl Harbor, also US bases and interests all over the Pacific, all at the same time. The Japanese killed millions of people.

They killed 15 million civilians and POWs, Chinese, Korean, Filipino, Indonesian, Burmese, Indochinese civilians, Pacific Islanders, and Allied POWs were killed.

Now that you're American, you might consider learning our history.

We were the good guys in WWII. I hope even Win would admit that.
