I dug out an old Dell machine that used to run Win98.
I wanted to put MS-DOS on it so I could run an old hardware intensive program that needed to run outside windows.

Every card in the box, and the box itself was just a bit non-standard and I couldn't get any drivers for it that worked.

I have always been a fan of Alienware computers, but now that they are tied in with Dell I worry that any of their machines will have to be accepted as Dell wants to build it, with just slightly non-standard editions of the components. It makes me cautious.
