Yes produced by Phil Spector. S&G originally did it without the "sail on silver girl" part which was thrown in at Spector's insistence, they never really liked having it in there.

I can't remember who did it. I thought it was Righteous Bros but maybe not.

I was too lazy to look it up last night but just did and you are correct.

I was thinking of "Unchained Melody".

Both are great songs.
