Even if the asteroid misses Earth by 10 or 20 thousand miles, the space wake alone caused by the asteroid passing at such high speed so close to Earth can cause enough of a disturbance on this planet to allow an increase in solar wind to reach the surface... and with holes in the ionosphere at both poles, we could be in for quite a troublesome time... I have some swamp land in Florida I'd like to sell someone before we get whacked by the big one... GZ
