Hamilton lost that battle to Jefferson. And Jackson nailed on the lid. I don't remember any of that history and the historical novel that I read was framed on the ground with all the characters being settlers. The politics didn't come into it that much except as viewed from the frontier, just the effects and the explanation of a poor monetary structure. I guess I'll have to read up on that era. It's amazing that we are still a country with the history that we have. I guess by European standards we're still a flash in the pan.
