Our whole attic is floored and one can stand up in most of the areas if they are not over six feet tall. Has a small room that is closed off with a door at the top of the stairs and a door across from it to enter the rest of the attic. A large area in the middle that we have exercise equipment set up and file boxes stored around areas on pallets to keep air under boxes so they won't disintegrate. Also have a large cedar closet up there which I had built for winter clothes storage. Our attic is filled with everyone's treasure/junk... deceased MIL, deceased Mom, ours and our kids things they left when they moved away from home. Our grandchildren love to go up there and snoop around to see if there is something they want to take home that belonged to their parents. I saved a lot of things for them if they were still in good condition from their rooms which they didn't want to take at the time they left. They have been happy I did. My Mom did that for me and I thought it was a good idea to do for my children.

I sometimes think of moving and downsizing, but the thought overwhelms me and I forget about it. Will let the kids decide what is trash and what is treasure and dispose of it when we depart this world and let them get our home ready to put up for sale. We are not allowed to have yard or garage sales in our subdivision by our homeowner restrictions, so I imagine everyone living in our area has much the same in their attics unless they have moved it to public storage areas.
