This is the third "surge" attempt. The previous two called in troops from other provinces and soldiers scheduled to leave into Baghdad. The previous two failed.

Look at me personally. I have no idea what is the best action from here in Iraq, but the surge sounds like a loser to me. 130k troops can't "accomplish the mission", but 150k troops will do it? That sounds ludicrous.

Congress has chosen not to stop Bush. Democrats won the election, they have no intention of honoring their campaign rhetoric.

Makes you wonder if the polls are correct. If the polls were correct, the democrats would have 2008 elections sewn up by trying to stop Bush and being blocked by republicans.
