Catholics practice infant baptism but if you don't get baptised as an infant you can be baptised later.

"Saying a few Hail Marys" isn't really consistent with trying to avoid sinning, and repenting sincerely when you do sin, and asking for forgiveness, and vowing to not sin anymore, and trying to not sin anymore.

If you sincerely repent and ask for forgiveness, your sins are forgiven.
