However, robots could be more friend and a better bedside manner than some of the doctors my family and friends have seen in the past.

Don't get me started. I spent almost 10 years suffering the company of fools (multiple doctors) before God led me to a "teachable doctor" and got my issues solved in a matter of weeks. Oh, and she was/is the sweetest doctor imaginable; kind and gentle and caring. They do exist. :)
