In the scheme of things, there can be no doubt that the US will "win" a conventional war with Iran, especially if we limit the engagement to an air war. However, it will most certainly be a Pyrrhic victory, when you take into account the hell of terrorism that Iran can unleash on our interests world wide. We already know that Iran is the largest sponsor of terrorism in the world. They'll use everything they have against us and our borders are like swiss cheese. Imagine daily occurrances like that recent mall shooting that left 5 dead. Terrorism within this country could be escalated to such a level that most of us will be afraid to leave home. We haven't yet experienced terrorism like Israel experiences it. That can be our fate if we fight Iran.

Now having said that. If we find out that Iran is building a nuclear bomb, then we will have no choice in my mind, despite the potential unleashing of worldwide terrorism by Iran.
