What are you gonna keep them at Pearl all the time. Hell in 4 months they will be sailing of to N Korea and the hate America BBC will come up with another Bullshit story.

I think they did the same story about a year ago. who pays attention to them??

Having the mine sweepers around the Persian Gulf makes sense. Its a strategic area, that's also a choke-point and vulnerable to mining.

We probably should put more effort to mine counter measure capability. Mines are a cheap way for a lesser power to delay and to at least a slight extent attrit superior forces. They are rarely decisive, but they can be a big hassle.
