We had avalanches caused by the highway department early in the weekend. They do this out of necessity, of course, for safety reasons. But, talk about some P.O.'d folks. The ski areas and stops along the way have estimated it costs them upwards of $800k per hour the highways are closed. This being a long week end, and nearing the end of the season, really made for tempers on the merchants part as well as the skiers who had to just turn around and come back to town. Glad I don't ski... like so many other Colorado natives I know.
