No surprise there! The guy has always been in the very right portion of the party......he just likes to fool people. I think he's bowing to the evangelicals...he knows he can't win without them....soon he'll be proposing marital constitutional amendments and jesus will become his personal hero... I can not tell you how much this wuss offends me. At least Cheney is upfront as to the %&^#^&$# he is. Meanwhile, McCain is another 'compassionate conservative' who will start a few more wars.
