My position is clear. Religions do not kill, people corrupt religions in order to commit heinous unjust acts.

Jesus was rightfully identified as the 'Prince of Peace'. I would add that he was the Prince of enlightenment. Yet when I don't blame the dark ages imposed by orthodox churches on Jesus and his message. I don't blame the horrific events of the Crusades on Jesus. I don't declare the long history of persecution by Christians on one another and onto others as proof that Jesus did not bring a message of peace. I don't blame the religion of Christianity, I blame the corrupt religious authorities who are responsible for their actions.

That is the corruption in the extremism you promote. Islam is not to blame for the corrupt human beings that use Islam to commit heinous and unjust acts. You disagree, at least be honest about that when you are challenged. You hold all of Islam, its dogma, its religious order, and its billions of devotes accountable for any unjust acts committed ... whether it is a nutcase taxy driver or a brutal dictator.

You can easily distinguish between the people who you don’t want to associate with because of their odd customs and cultural traditions, and extremist Radicals who are planning to attack and destroy you. Exploiting the radical Islam issue to bring harm to those who are innocent is extremism.

I believe that the opinions of Christians control and augment the values that it's members express. I believe that Christians en mass moderate the views of the extremes on both sides, so that extremely Liberal Christians move more slowly in their attitudes because of Conservative Christians and that Conservative Christians slowly become less constrictive because of the moderating effect of Liberals. I hope the same would be found in Islam, but rather I seem to see that Moderate Muslims are completely buffaloed and pushed around by Radicals.
I find that Historically and even presently Islamic governments are no given to being particularly concerned with empowering minorities. Actually from all I can find out, they make the lives of Non muslims pretty miserable. And in democracies where muslims become dominant, the rights of the minorities are quickly sacrificed to Islam. Pakistan is a reasonable example.

So We are called to look at the problem. Muslims in North America are often a closed community that we have little knowledge of and share little with. They have made themselves comfortable Ghettoes, and seem happier to stay in them. Recently in Canada there was a plot found that included a delusion that the men involved could cut off the head of the Canadian Prime Minister. More recently we had a young man killing people in Utah. We did not really examine the groups in the Mosques that these young people attended because they were Muslims, although in similar instances, of young people deciding to kill other people we examined every single detail of their lives.

I believe it is being left up to Muslims to do this examination on their own, and frankly, I see far more of Islam denying there is a problem that Islamic Scholars taking part in a debate of how to free Islam from it's radicals.

That debate does take place in Christianity BTW.

Re: I agree and if you want to defeat Radical Islam you must defeat the extremism that feeds it.

This will mean doing some very unpopular things such as shuttering schools inculcating hatred i the young. A huge step.

Are you ready for riots wherever this plan is to be implemented? Look at the riots over some friggin' cartoons!
