I have argued with Muslims over this. The only time they had a point that made sense was over an exception to the no lying rule. The exception is that if you are being tortured so that your enemy can get information to kill or harm your innocent loved one, then you can deceive them. Unfortunately extremists corrupt that exception to make it the standard by defining their enemies as all people (Americans) who want to harm their loved ones hence they justify lots of stuff. Not too different than you justifying all your falsehoods by suggesting all Muslims deserve to be treated badly because of the behavior of some Muslims.
