"Do you know how many average, ordinary American people have been saying this?" i expect every adult who has gone through the public education in this country has run up against an incompetent teacher. I can remember back to 50's, jr high school, a teacher that was drunk every day in class. In fact one time they found him passed out in a closet during class hours. As far as i know nothing ever happen to him, Once in the 60's i asked some kids if so and so was still teaching at the school they all laughed and said yes, but he is due for retirement in a couple of years.
