For many people in the ME we are an imperialist "Christian" country and they have very interesting ideas about us, that may or may not conform to reality as we understand it, but are reality for people in the ME If as you say the ME is believing a complete load of nonsense that doesn't conform to reality, how can we tell how they will react to anything we do? If they don't accept reality, even a very subjective reality, but spin a web of lies and half-truths to comfort themselves, they are likely to blame us 100% no matter what we actually do, right? The most logical conclusion is to humor the lunatics with soothing words but just act in our own interests.
