I wish I could regale you with stories of travel and adventure, but the truth is my computer crashed awhile back. I figured it was a motherboard issue, so I took things apart and put them back together again - and then was getting insufficient power. So I took it to a guy who actually knows what he's doing and he informed me that my hard drive had crashed and that I had damaged the CPU when I put it back in. It's one thing to tinker with machines not knowing what you're doing, it's another thing to mess with electronicals not knowing what you're doing. A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing...

Idiosyncratic or sacrilegious, Johnson is certainly colorful - and quite a curmudgeon.

You haven't read Bonfire yet? You're in for a treat. A lot of people say it's an 80s novel, but it's a lot more than just that. It's his best one, imo.
