The kokanee were originally brought to Colorado from the Northwest. Idaho and Washington, if I recall. They are a type of salmon about the size of most lake trout. They only live about 4 years and not much longer than a foot. We do have some good walleye fishing here, but I never fished for them. I don't eat much trout, mostly because I don't fish anymore. Cousin offers me a few each year, but I don't particularly enjoy them.
