Kudos to Hector for staying the MS(market share) course, the only pathway to ensuring AMD longevity!

INTC has given up huge margins in attempt stall AMD's progress and protect its monopoly, INTC's only way to secure profitability for its bloated structure.

Barcelona may well be the cornerstone to a duopoly environment signifying INTC's monopoly is smashed once and for all, and that duopoly (and AMD big profitability) is ensured going forward.

Go get 'em Hector!

We are doing things to improve our cash position, but at this point in time I don't see our balance sheet crying out for any unusual or desperate measures.

This sounds equivalent to a depressed person saying, "at this point in time I am not yet considering suicide".

Slip slidin' away.... slip slidin' awaaaaaaay.

We don't expect the ramp [this year] to be dramatic because it's a new core, new micro architecture and platform. The biggest impact it will have is [ Translation: nothing.] that we'll see a large number of customers and partners align themselves behind the technology. We expect that ramp to follow along the same lines as when Opteron began to get adopted. So I expect it to follow same patterns. Over 2007, it will have a significant impact on what I call design wins. People are committed to the architecture and product, and [it will be] a very significant part of revenue and earning in 2008.
..

Yikes.

Hector is basically saying, expect no financial impact in 2007. The DailyTech roadmap must be right.
