Let's cool it with name calling.

How long will that last?

What's your solution?

What's the point? I was "wrong" when I didn't think there was justification to invade Iraq. I was "wrong" when I said that disbanding the Iraqi Army was a mistake. I was "wrong" when I said de-Baathification was a mistake. I was even "wrong" when I said that "Bring them on." was a stupid thing to say. I recommended long ago that the US [or coalition forces if you prefer] should have withdrawn from the more stable provinces and concentrated US forces where the worst violence was occurring...That was obviously wrong because Bush didn't do it. I suggested a long time ago that the US should have gotten the Iraqis to carve up Iraq into three independent countries; the Kurds are [and have been] independent since Desert Storm; the reason not to, sic, Turkey would be unhappy was a poor excuse. It's probably too late for that suggestion to be viable.

Recall that no plan survives more than a day. Since plans are made based on current circumstances and Bush is determined to "surge" his way to victory, and that's not going to change for the next two years, we might as well wait until the next President is about to take over and talk about it then.

Then what do you see happening in Iraq? And the ME as a whole?

It's going to get significantly worse. Like the projection of force made it worse in Lebanon, so will the continued projection of force in Iraq. If it looks like we're going to use that same tactic on Iran, my plan is to buy USO. It might not be a bad idea to due it now. If Halliburton and Exxon can make big bucks out of death and destruction why shouldn't we?

A deal Kim would keep? Are you kidding? :-)

Explain it to Brumar, maybe he'll listen to you. He thinks this deal is "different". I think the only thing you can do with the fat little b@astard is to send in a Korean [ethnic] assassination team. Hope they're successful and hope his successor isn't as insane as Kim. The assassination team should be operate under the premise that they'll get caught and take cyanide capsules prior to their capture.
