Cyprian > Why should we bow down to the whims of the UN? Based upon what authority do they have the right to dictate their twisted version of morality to the whole world?

The UN is simply a convention created for the purpose of getting something done. That something was a modus vivendi for nations to live with one another according to certain mutually agreed rules. The UN was never intended to be a source of moral guidance.

> The U.N. is a recent phenomenon. What if you lived in a time before the existence of the U.N.? What would be your objective source of morality then?

The UN is not a source of morality. Your premise is wrong. Practically speaking, the UN is a glorified Tower of Babel but it owes its authority to the mutual acceptance by its members of its Charter and its rules.
