That's because of the RepubliCRACKERS. The folks that buy into the "snake oil" politics of "US vs. THEM". "US" is the Republican Party that represents Jesus and good traditional values. "THEM" is the Democrats that represent Communism and Atheism and everything that's bad. This all played out in Alabama a few years ago. The Governor of Alabama thought it was wrong to tax the poor at such a high rate while giving businesses and the wealthy folks in the state an exceptionally low rate of taxation. This was put to a vote and the RepubliCRACKERS actually voted AGAINST lowering their own taxes. That's why Alabama continues today to be at the FOREFRONT of education and income equality.
