GZ;

Trying to turn the Iraq controversy into a liberal vrs conservative battle accomplish nothing, other than to divide America. Editorials such as the link you provided (besides being dated) are increasingly irrelevant as more and more conservatives are abandoning Bush and his philosophy. That Hagel - one of the most staunchest conservative Senators - has shifted positions along with many other very prominent republicans means this is no longer liberal vrs conservative issue.

We know where you stand and we know where Ted Kennedy stands, but most Americans are somewhere in the middle of those two positions. I am not anti war - I am anti Iraq. I think Bush screwed up because our efforts should be concentrated in Afghanistan where the terrorists were trained and came from. He took his eye off our enemy as BinLaden still has not been captured and as Afghanistan looks to be especially more troublesome. We are in danger of losing in Afghanistan because of Iraq.

The real test for GZ is this. All things being the same, if Clinton had done what Bush did and had created this nightmare - what would your position then be? And THAT is what Roosevelt is referring to in the quote I posted here.
