Maybe God had also spoken to the Egyptians. When you look at the development of all the world religions, I think one can speculate that the entity we refer now to as God could have been sending forth messages to all of mankind throughout the history of mankind. Certain groups here and there picked up on it and ran with it, so to speak. If this is the case, then I also suspect God's original, most basic messages were quite simple and straightforward. And most religious doctrines are man's creations.
