Switching the entire electric power generation away from burning carbon and hydrocarbon to nuclear would have an impact. And from there, you can move on to heating, and later on, making hydrogen for propulsion.

Unfortunately, nuclear energy is a sin in the environmental faith, so we are destined to either shoot ourselves in the foot with their naive ideas, that may cripple the global economy, or we will have to get used to a few degrees higher temperatures - something I would have actually appreciated last month and a half in the Northeast...
