Pakistan, in my view, represents the most difficult nut of all to solve and I am not sure its solveable by USA alone. There we have a Government that would like to be proAmerican, but portions of the govt including the intelligence service and perhaps some of the military supports El Quiada or similar groups. If we lean too hard on the govt, it could fall then we would be faced with another belligerent. If we dont, the terrorists have a place to hide. I dont know the answer, unless the situation becomes so bad that nothing is left but nuclear war. Like Iran, if nuclear weapons fall into the hands of islamic fanatics we can almost be assured that they will end up in Western cities, including our own. jdn
