What makes you think AMD can keep up with Intel's design and process cadence?

I don't know, the fact that they have historically. The fact that it is not just AMD, but AMD + partners (IBM, Sun, etc.). The fact that they lead in some design areas like HT.

I know you think this time its going to be different. Intel will just bury AMD -- not like last time. What can I say, invest accordingly.

For everyone else, Intel will NOT be a monopoly in the CPU business anytime soon.

To believe that Intel will execute on its "cadence plan" requires a leap of faith.

To glean any performance estimates from the plan that can be compared to any future AMD product requires another leap.

Don't let that stop you, doug. "Leap Ahead!"
