OT Koan!!! Stop complaining unless you were stuck in an airport today for 3 (three) hours as all CNN wanted to cover was ... a private and sordid fight over burial of A.N. Smith. You don't know from pain!! Standard airport TV, no volume control, no way to change channel, speakers carrying the drama to every corner of the gate area as though reading is so last millenium. Some pathetic judge auditioning for TV instead of acting like a judge (he'd have to act; all he had going for him was the robes). By the time I thought about throwing something heavy through the TV, there were already other fliers at the gate. Security would've nabbed me and I'd be sharing a cell now with some collared for trying to carry his tax-free hooch on the plane.

By the way, my tongue-in-cheek smackdown of California earlier today, re: SGM country risk, was a service to the Canadians on the board who are too polite and neighborly to bash a U.S. state for being a menace to mining. I'm not saying SGM won't be allowed to operate its mine--there is no good reason it shouldn't if done right. I'm just wary of High Church Environmentalism, particularly as political symbolism supplants more of reality as the electoral cycle progresses. I think you can be an environmentalist and pro-mining, but I doubt many in the PRC would agree.

"I am not only in the wrong country I am on the wrong planet"

What a GREAT t-shirt logo that would make!
I've felt that way since I was 12 (the planet part anyhow).

Might get some "My country!... (no matter how f***ed up it is)" (because our sub-standard education system never taught them enough to have a clue) types chomping to slap you down though....

so...

just "I am on the wrong planet" should get you by safely and still make a grand point.

WELL done!

CB.
