Wouldn't Intel be bankrupt in 90 days if they could not use them? Just wondering...So if AMD's ship was to go down then Intel's might as well...hmmmm

iirc, instruction sets don't get licensed.

i think this was the subject of a suit long ago between amd and intel.

amd was found to have copied microcode but the instruction set was fair game.

i doubt that intel needed to copy anything from the amd implementation this time around.
