I think a big pitfall of the Dean campaign was that towards the end he came across as one who had his solution for the malaise similar to a doctor's diagnosis for the illness. Obama needs to avoid that path. he started off very well during his campaign kickoff by saying that all those people gathered there "were out there not for him but for themselves."

I also see his opponents trying to snatch the initiative and ask questions such as "What does he stand for." "What are his specific plans." etc. etc. But the American people who are flocking to his meetings in such large numbers know well "what he is not." he is not someone like Bush and Hillary, who want o lodged in the White HOuse based of dynasty. Instead he is one who came up through sheer hard work, something that the Americans like and can relate to.
