I believe that BT's intransigence, as manifest by sticking to its copper plan, will be rewarded by the company eventually being forced to endure the same kind of public humiliation of having to fess up to the inadequacy of its ways as AT&T is now gradually acknowledging (in public, but in private this has been a war that's been waging forever, it would appear from press items we've seen), i.e., that its own copper-dependent FTTN plan sucks.
