yes socialism was Russias downfall, and for some reason our educational community has embraced it. i am continually baffled at the antics of those we elect, because they could care less about anything that is reasonable, but will do anything to look good.

Your point on education is well taken -- that is another very serious situation requiring correction. Actually, that might be a worthwhile thread topic for SI. One wonders if PC on the modern college campus, or the liberal-pre-disposed teacher's union, might not be partially to blame?

Did we miss a fountainhead of knowledge springing from within islam or something?
