3/2/07 Update
Bears were on a rampage last week and, along with the overall market, the Nasdaq Biotech Index and the Charity Contest portfolios suffered major wounds. When the closing bell halted the carnage, the NBI was down -4.56% YTD (vs. up 3.53% YTD at the prior Friday's close) and the Contest portfolio median was down -5.96% YTD (vs. up 4.01% YTD at the prior Friday's close). At Friday's close, just 7 of the 31 Contest portfolios were in the black and 14 of the 31 were beating the NBI.
My own portfolio was pummeled badly, but managed to hold on to first place with a 15.3% YTD gain. Wilder's portfolio remained in second place with a 10.2% YTD gain and is now certainly within striking distance.
